The lasers are the most powerful light sources on Earth. Using vivid colors and precise beams, the laser shows become the junction between the light, theater and fireworks. For a better understanding, a laser is an optical device that produces a coherent beam of light. And these laser beams of light have many properties that distinguish them from the incoherent light produced for example by the Sun or by the light bulb that people use in their rooms.

The laser shows are used for special events such as wedding parties, anniversaries, celebrating a special event like an inauguration or prom. But most people choose to use laser shows at concerts. But what people do not usually know is the fact that originally the word “laser” is an acronym which comes from the English language and it means: Light Amplification by Stimulated the Emission of Radiation. Moreover, the laser shows have an interesting history too.

It is said that the principles of the laser ware set in 1916 by Albert Einstein himself, by an evaluation of the consequences of Max Planck's radiation law and by introducing the concepts of spontaneous emissions and stimulated emissions. These theoretical results were forgotten, however, until the Second World War because Einstein did not have time to develop a good theory.

In 1953, the American physicist Charles Townes and, independently, Nikolay Basov and Aleksandr Prokhorov from the Soviet Union succeeded in producing the first maser which was a device similar to a laser, but which emitted microwaves instead of laser radiation. For these good results, the three scientists were rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1964.

But the experts from Dubai claim that people should be careful when they use laser shows. From the point of view of the danger which is posed by the laser beam on humans (mainly, when it comes to the eyes and skin), the lasers are classified into four classes. Currently the laser classification is not the same in all countries, but people are interested in making these classes to be defined in an internationally way.
