What is e-waste?

Electronic waste also known as e-waste are the electronic gadgets and machines that are nearing the end of their lives. The growing urge for civilisation and modern architecture has increased the number of construction work going on around us, exponentially. Construction wastes are created every now and then from large-scale industries. Thus, there should be proper treatment of those waste and they shouldn't cause adverse effects to civilization. The various waste produced are things like cement, metal scraps, brick, rods and so on. They need to be properly segregated and then put into specific treatment plants, to be treated and thus reduce their threat to the environment.

The treatment of hazardous waste has been an important topic of discussion in recent years. They are produced from industries and chemical plants in bulk and are a growing threat to not only human life, but also the entire ecosystem. There are a few methods used for the treatment of hazardous wastes, because as much as recycling is desirable, it isn't always a viable option. The are :

The management of e-waste depends a lot on the maintenance. The first and foremost way of management is to re-evaluate if the devices are really worth throwing away or they can still be used. Another way is to maintain them really well, keep them clean, enclosed and protected, so that they last much longer and therefore, reduce the waste. There are a lot of factors that decide good electronic products and one of them is the energy star. It is always advisable to buy products that are better for the environment. The last way, may be donating them. A lot of engineering explanation sectors and social programs may need partially damaged or broken materials to make students understand their formation. Uses in those sectors can also help reduce e-waste.
