And people talk about the fact that in many regions it is estimated that water resources will decrease. The limited availability of natural recourses makes people manage the water into a sustained rhythm. This topic has raised a number of technical and economic questions in the water management industries, especially because the wastewater treatment is a complex process which deals with neutralizing the harmful substances which are dissolved in water and which needs some important investments.
It is important to know that the wastewater treatment can be done by applying a primary and secondary treatment. But in order to reuse the water it is necessary a tertiary treatment, which has the main role to remove pollutants from water.
When it comes to the primary wastewater treatment, the best method is choosing the chemical treatment. This method uses chemical processes and physicochemical properties in order to remove the pollutants. The solution is applicable to other categories of industrial wastewater too, when people need a quick and effective treatment. It is important to note that the chemical treatment is applied to both pollutants which are in suspension or which are already dissolved. Thus, the fine suspended substances, which are not decanted into the primary clarifier, are removed by using chemical reagents which are also called “coagulants”.
When it comes to the secondary process of wastewater treatment, the experts from Dubai claim that it is called secondary because it is applied for the disposal of biodegradable organic pollutants from water, which may be food for microorganisms. The tertiary treatment is applied after treating the wastewater in order to reuse it. The depth and extent of this treatment depends on the type of reuse.
The tertiary treatment of wastewater may include one or more operations such as: the chlorination, the precipitation with chemical agents, the foaming and the foam separation, the activated carbon adsorption, the ion exchange and the list may go on.
